Maintenance & Rehabilitation
Repair, renewal and strengthening of existing road, bridge, infrastructure and building assets — extending life without rebuilding.
What we do
Road surface renewal and patching, bridge bearing and joint replacement, concrete repair (corrosion, carbonation), structural strengthening (jacketing, carbon fibre, added shear walls), utility line renewal, waterproofing and corrosion protection.
How we work
Diagnosis comes first in repair work: a repair carried out without finding the cause recurs quickly. Condition assessment is made, with coring and non-destructive testing where required, and the repair method follows those findings. Where the asset stays in use, work is phased.
Standards
Concrete repair materials are selected to the EN 1504 product family; strengthening calculations rest on a load capacity assessment of the existing structure.
Coring rigs, non-destructive testing equipment (rebar scanners, ultrasound), hydro-demolition and surface preparation equipment, shotcrete, carbon fibre application systems.
Working in an occupied asset puts user safety first: the work area is physically separated and dust and noise are controlled. Temporary propping requires structural approval.
Prequalification & survey
We review the tender documents, visit the site and put the existing conditions and the client's expectations in writing.
Quantities & proposal
We produce item-based quantities and present a proposal with a clearly defined scope; exclusions are stated explicitly.
Planning & permits
A single programme, the resource plan and required permit processes are set up.
Execution
The site is mobilized; infrastructure and buildings proceed on one schedule and are reported regularly.
Handover
The snag list is closed and as-built documents are handed over.
Is strengthening or rebuilding more economical?
No answer is possible without a capacity assessment. Where the structural skeleton is sound, strengthening is usually faster and cheaper; we present the assessment in writing.
Can work proceed while the building is in use?
In most cases yes. A phased plan is set up and noisy operations are moved outside occupied hours.
