Project and engineering work for an urban transformation housing project in Bursa Kükürtlü.
The main difficulty in urban transformation is not architectural, but the convergence of property rights and zoning rights on the same plan. Block layout, floor plans, and facade design were built upon this balance.
Layout
The blocks were arranged in a staggered manner to avoid blocking each other's views and daylight. Ground floor commercial units open to the street, while residential entrances lead to the inner courtyard.
Earthquake regulation
The project was sized according to the current earthquake regulation; the structural system and architectural design were developed together.
