An architectural concept study for a business and residence hotel prepared for Niamey, the capital of Niger. The study defined a holistic design language from the urban stance of the building to the lobby experience, room and apartment interior layouts.

Exterior shell and identity

A tall block was established on the contrast of a vertical blind core with a rhythmic solar shading facade. Copper-toned inclined sunshades and stone-textured facade provide shading suitable for the hot climate while giving the building a strong identity. A wide canopy and welcoming axis were resolved at the ground level.

Lobby and common areas

The double-height lobby was designed as a welcoming moment with a suspended light sculpture, textured burgundy wall panels, and a shiny stone floor. Reception, waiting, and vertical circulation were consolidated in a single volume.

Rooms and apartments

Guest rooms and residence apartments were resolved in different scales; a design language was established that combines hotel comfort with home warmth through dark wooden surfaces, linen-textured walls, and layered lighting.
